Daaku Maharaaj is a Telugu-language action drama that was released in theaters on January 12. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Bobby Deol (in his Telugu debut), Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Shrinath, and Urvashi Jaiswal in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Bobby Kolli and has been receiving positive reviews from audiences and critics. As per the early estimates from the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, Daaku Maharaaj managed to collect Rs 22.5 crore net in India on its opening day. The film has already beaten the opening day figures of Balakrishna’s previous film Bhagavanth Kesari which earned Rs 16.6 crore on its opening day in India on October 19 last year.
Daaku Maharaaj will also be facing tough competition from Ram Charan-starrer Game Changer. The Shankar-directed political action thriller also stars Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah in pivotal roles. The film released on Friday, January 10 and earned Rs 17 crore on Sunday.
On the work front, Nandamuri Balakrishna will be seen next in the action-packed drama Akhanda 2: Thandavam. The film is a sequel to the 2021 hit Akhanda and is helmed by Boyapati Srinu. Thandavam is set to release in the theatres on September 25, 2025.
