Veteran poet, writer, filmmaker, and former parliamentarian Pritish Nandy breathed his last on Wednesday. He was 73. Actor Anil Kapoor was clearly shaken by the news of Nandy’s demise. He took to his X handle to post a photo of Nandy along with a post that read, “Shocked and heartbroken by the loss of my dear friend Pritish Nandy. Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee posted, “Pritish Nandy’s pen, voice, and vision shaped art, media, and thought in ways few could. A true polymath, his legacy will endure. Rest in peace.
#PritishNandy”
Director Sudhir Mishra remembered Nandy as someone “who lived well, fought well”. He shared an emotional post on X. It read, “What can one say about Pritish Nandy? One could say that he lived well, loved well, fought well, didn’t suffer fools, had a sharp, biting sense of humour like no other. After the joke landed, after the laughter came the silence when you understood that he had just given you a life lesson (sic).”
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh too condoled the demise of the late filmmaker and posted on X: “Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Pritish Nandy. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. May his memory be a blessing and may you find strength in this difficult time. Rest in peace, sir (sic).”

Actor Ranvir Shorey remembered Nandy as a ‘maverick’ who ‘put so many talented people on the map in the movie business”. “Shocked and saddened to hear of @PritishNandy Sir’s demise!
