Shweta Tiwari reveals how a prank by Ektaa Kapoor got her Prerna’s role in Kasautii Zindagi Kay

Shweta Tiwari gained widespread recognition due to her portrayal of Prerna in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. In the early 2000s, Shweta played the lead role in Ektaa Kapoor’s show, which aired for several years. In an interview, the actress opened up on how she got the character. Tiwari revealed that Kapoor played a prank on her which almost scared her and she bagged the lead role on one of Ektaa’s most loved shows. In an interview, Shweta Tiwari revealed that she earlied worked in shows like Aane Wala Pal, Karam Apna Apna, and Kahi Kisi Roz. In KKZ, Shweta played a snobbish girl, and Ektaa Kapoor saw her roles for an entire week. Kapoor set up a meeting with Tiwari in the next week to discuss how the actress arrives late on sets. Shweta told SCREEN, “One day she said, ‘Call Shweta to my cabin; I want to take her case as this is not done. She cannot come late on my sets.’ I was so scared to go and meet her after the pack-up. It was around 9:30-10 pm and she was sitting on a sofa. I was scared because I was new. She said, ‘I have heard you come late on my sets. What do you think? We will wait for you?’ Later, she started laughing and said she wanted to offer me Kasautii Zindagi Kay. She said, ‘Prerna is my dream. I want you to play that.’ She asked me if I’d be able to do it and not be late. Further in this entertainment news, the Kasautii Zindagi Kay star revealed that for a few months, she couldn’t believe that all of this was true or if it was truly a prank. After a month, Ektaa didn’t discuss anything about the show with her and one day, she got a call for a look test. Shweta gave a small audition on the sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Eventually, she bagged the show, which also starred Cezanne Khan as the male lead.
